QUETTA: Shoukat Ali, Administrator, Quetta Metropolitan Corporation (QMC), has said that concrete measures were being adopted to ensure improving cleanliness in Quetta city. These views were expressed by him while talking to media, including PPI, during inspection of different areas of the provincial capital on Friday. He said, “Quetta city is like our home, hence, it becomes our duty and responsibility to take care of its cleanliness”.
He added that directions to all the concerned authorities of QMC had already been issued to remain vigilant during the recent rainy season in order to cope up with any untoward situation. He said sanitary staff of QMC had been deployed in different areas of the city to carry out cleanliness, adding that he was personally supervising the duties of staff. During visit of Jinnah Road, Anscomb Road, Circular Road, Meezan Chowk, Qandhari Bazar, Zarghoon Road, Nawa Killi, Sariab Road and other area of Quetta, he directed the deputed staff to perform their duties diligently so that people might not confront hardships. He said that strict disciplinary proceedings against the negligent staff would be initiated in accordance with the rules in vogue.
Moreover, in compliance with the directives of Shoukat Ali, Administrator, QMC, Attaullah Baloch, Chief Metropolitan Officer, QMC suspended the services of two sanitary staff on account of negligence.
