LAHORE: The provincial government has placed shipping containers on Lahore’s various roads to block the entrance of workers ahead of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s rally, making the situation intolerable for commuters owing to snarls-up. Roads which were closed on Monday by placing containers include Minar-e-Pakistan, Mohini Road, Data Darbar, Bhati Chowk, Lower Mall and adjoining roads.

Lahore’s district civil administration has issued a directive for the early closure of all schools and colleges situated along the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally route scheduled today. In this regard, Commissioner Lahore, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, issued the directive on Sunday, ordering the closure of educational institutions at 12. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan was all set to lead his party’s election rally in Lahore today (Monday), with the city administration placing barricades around Zaman Park and other areas amid imposition of Section 144.
