Coronavirus has become a Global Challenge Inflicting Economic Losses: Mandviwalla

Islamabad, March 11, 2020 (PPI-OT): Deputy Chairman Senate Saleem Mandviwalla said that Coronavirus is becoming a global challenge and concerted efforts are required to overcome the epidemic. He said that the epidemic has threatened economies and inflicted financial losses. He said that well-coordinated efforts are required to tackle it. He expressed these views in a meeting with Kuninori Matsdua, Ambassador of Japan in Pakistan here at Parliament House on Wednesday. “We are committed to our friendship with Japan” said Mandviwalla while highlighting the significance of bilateral ties.

 

Deputy Chairman Senate Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Japan and desires to further expand the friendly ties in different sectors for mutual benefit of the people of two sides. He reiterated need to further strengthen the existing economic relations between Pakistan and Japan and called for minimizing the imbalance in trade between two countries. He said that prospects of trade volume can be improved through enhancing parliamentary ties and cooperation. He said that bilateral relations could be further cemented by increasing parliamentary exchanges. Deputy Chairman Senate said that Pakistan is blessed with natural resources and minerals.

 

He said that both the countries supported each other’s in the hour of need and excellent cooperation has been witnessed at international fora. He said that there is a need to further build cooperation by promoting people to people contacts and exchange of Parliamentary delegations. Deputy Chairman asked the Ambassador to explore the avenues for investment in different sectors including automobile.

 

The Ambassador said that two countries have enjoyed historic relations and Japan is keen to further boost cooperation in mining, fisheries, automobile and other mutually beneficial sectors. He said that close coordination of business communities. He Japanese Ambassador informed that the government of Japan is working on promotion of cooperation in different areas which would further help create jobs and devising an economic strategic plan to enhance mutual collaboration.
