Coronavirus takes 13 more lives as cases toll surges to 11,155 in Pakistan

KARACHI:Coronavirus cases in Pakistan rose to 11,155 by 10:00 am on Friday, raising the country-wide death toll from the virus to 237. During the last 24 hours, 642 new cases were reported across the country while 13 more people died of the COVID-19 disease.

According to the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation, and Coordination data, a total of 11,155 people have been tested positive for the coronavirus disease in the country since its outbreak in February, out which 4,767 cases were in Punjab, 3,671 in Sindh, 607 in Balochistan, 1,541 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 214 in Islamabad, 300 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 55 in Azad Kashmir. However, 2,527 patients have recovered from the disease so far.

There is a continuous rise in the virus disease cases in the country. It is feared that cases may rise to an alarming level as lockdown has been eased.
