Corrupt cops to be shown door, public to be provided maximum relief

Islamabad, December 04, 2018 (PPI-OT): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan has said that complaints of people would be addressed on top priority and those police officials involved in sluggish policing and corrupt practices would be shown door. He stated this while chairing a meeting in Central Police Office which was attended by DIG (Operations) Faisal Ali Raja, SSP (Operations) Waqar Ud Din Syed, AIG (Operations) Sardar Ghias Gul, all newly posted zonal SPs, SDPOs and SHOs, a police spokesman said on Monday.

The IGP categorically asked all officers that the corruption in police department would not be tolerated. He directed all officers to do their official duties with full devotion, dedication and to serve the people. Mr. Aamir Zulfiqar Khan told the officers that some complaints were received against police officials who have been suspended and departmental inquiries have been initiated against them. He told all officers that they should remain far away from Land grabbers, drug peddlers and if any of the officers found involved in such activities would be taken to task.

The IGP further emphasized that all officers should keep their doors open for public visiting their offices/police stations and handle them politely. He reiterated that after assuming charge as IGP Islamabad, my top priorities were to change police culture and to provide all medical, residence and other facilities to the police officials. The IGP further directed all officers to tighten the security at all police pickets after last day firing incident on police in Rawalpindi. He also directed to prepare a fool proof security plan for upcoming event of Christmas.
