Seven suspected terrorists, alleged by the military to be sponsored by India, were killed during an intelligence-driven security operation in the Sherani District of Balochistan, the armed forces’ media affairs wing announced on Friday.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was launched on October 1 following credible reports regarding the presence of insurgents linked to the “Fitna al Khwarij” outfit, which the military describes as an Indian proxy.
Security personnel effectively engaged the militants’ sanctuary, and after a fierce exchange of fire, all seven individuals were neutralized. A significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials was also seized from their possession.
The ISPR stated that the deceased individuals had been actively implicated in numerous terrorist activities across the region. A follow-up sanitization operation is now in progress to clear the vicinity of any remaining threats.
The statement concluded by reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism and ensure that all perpetrators of violence are brought to justice.
