A newlywed couple from Kashmore sought government protection on Tuesday, citing threats from family members after their self-arranged marriage in Quetta.
At a Quetta Press Club conference, Fahad Ali and his wife Sesi, daughter of Allah Dita, explained they had legally wed the day before at the Sariab Quetta court. They stated they now face death threats from Sesi”s uncle. The pair, originally from Eidgah Muhalla, Kashmore, emphasized the consensual nature of their union.
Sesi elaborated that her uncle’s hostility stems from her previous divorce. He allegedly intends to force her into another unwanted marriage. She appealed for government intervention, fearing for both her and her spouse”s safety due to the serious nature of the threats.
