Court reserve judgment on reference against former IGP Jamali, others

KARACHI:An Accountability Court of Karachi on Saturday reserved its judgment on a reference pertaining to the alleged corruption in the funds of the Sindh police against former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Ghulam Hyder Jamali and others.

 

The court was hearing a reference against former IGP Jamali, former assistant inspector general (finance) Syed Fida Hussain Shah, ex-AIG (logistics) Tanveer Ahmed Tahir, another former AIG (logistics) Kamran Rashid, ex-AIG Faisal Bashir Memon and around 10 other officials who had been named accused in the reference.

 

During the hearing, former IGP pleaded that reference may be handed over to anti-corruption after the amendments to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Ordinance.

 

The court reserved its judgments after hearing the arguments of the accused persons. The judgment is expected to be announced on 16th November. The NBA filed reference against the accused in 2018 on the context of alleged corruption in police welfare funds.
