Karachi, May 12, 2021 (PPI-OT): As many as 13 more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 4,778 and 1232 new cases emerged when 13,630 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Wednesday. He added that 13 more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 4,778 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate.
Mr. Shah said that 13,630 samples were tested which detected 1232 cases that constituted 9 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 3,806,110 tests have been conducted against which 295,469 cases were diagnosed, of them 92.1 percent or 272,214 patients have recovered, including 633 overnight. The CM said that currently 18,477 patients were under treatment, of them 17,767 were in home isolation and 710 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 666 patients was stated to be critical, including 62 shifted to ventilators.
According to the statement, out of 1232 new cases, 529 have been detected from Karachi, including 237 from East, 135 South, 97 Central, 36 Malir, 16 Korangi and 8 West. Hyderabad has 266, Dadu 154, Thatta 52, Jamshoro 46, Sanghar 39, Matiari 33, Badin 29, Mirpurkhas 14, Tando Allahyar 12, Ghotki and Nausheroferoze 8 each, Larkana and Sujawal 7 each, Shaheed Benazirabad 6, Sukkur 4, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Tando Muhammad Khan, Umerkot and Khairpur 1 each. Murad Ali Shah urged people to abide by the SOPs issued by the government.
