COVID-19 claims 35 more patients, infects 1021 others

Karachi, September 07, 2021 (PPI-OT): As many as 35 more patients of Coronavirus died overnight lifting the death toll to 7,030 and 1021 new cases emerged when 17,668 tests were conducted. This was stated by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in a statement issued here on Tuesday. He added that 35 more patients of COVID-19 lost their lives lifting the death toll to 7,030 that constituted 1.6 percent death rate. Mr. Shah said that 17,668 samples were tested which detected 1021 cases that constituted 5.8 percent current detection rate.

He added that so far 5,660,055 tests have been conducted against which 439,770 cases were diagnosed, of them 87.4 percent or 384,369 patients have recovered, including 914 overnight. The CM said that currently 48,371 patients were under treatment, of them 47,498 were in home isolation, 45 at isolation centres and 828 at different hospitals. He added that the condition of 740 patients was stated to be critical, including 71 shifted to ventilators.

According to the statement, out of 1021 new cases, 412 have been detected from Karachi, including 127 from East, 107 South, 66 Central, 45 Malir, 44 Korangi and 23 West. Hyderabad has 139, Larkana and Sanghar 44 each, Shaheed Benazirabad 36, Matiari 34, Badin 29, Kamber 26, Umerkot 24, Thatta 23, Ghotki and Khairpur 20 each, Mirpurkhas, Tando Allahyar and Shikarpur 18 each, Jamshoro 15, Jacobabad 10, Sukkur 8, Dadu and Kashmore 3 each, Naushero Feroze, Tando Muhammad Khan and Tharparkar 1 each. Murad Ali Shah urged people to abide by the SOPs issued by the government.
