CPI-M holds protests across IIOJK against BJP govt’s policies

Srinagar, September 14, 2020 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the activists of Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) held protest demonstrations across the territory, today, against the fascist policies of Modi-led Indian government in the territory.

The demonstrators shouted slogans against the BJP government. They also condemned charge-sheet filed against the party General Secretary, Sitaram Yechury and other leaders by Delhi police and ongoing restrictions on 4G mobile internet in the occupied territory.

The CPI-M activists rued that it was unfortunate that the people of Kashmir were being deprived of 4G mobile internet services and demanded the ban should be immediately lifted. The party also strongly demanded unconditional release of all political prisoners who have been implicated in cases under trumped up charges since August 5 last year.

The CPI-M activists protested at Press Colony in Srinagar. A similar protest was also held outside the Divisional Commissioners’ office in Jammu, Islamabad, Kulgam and other parts of the territory. The protesters condemned the naming of Sitaram Yechury, renowned economist Jayati Ghosh, Delhi University Professor Apoorvanand, Swaraj Abhiyan leader Yogendra Yadav and documentary filmmaker Rahul Roy in the supplementary charge sheet in the Delhi riots case by police.
