The much-anticipated quarter-finals of the President’s Trophy Grade-II are set to ignite cricket fields across Pakistan starting tomorrow. Kingsmen will challenge Mit Solutions at the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, while JDW Sugar Mills face Railways at the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.
In Lahore, the Saeed Sports City will host Pakistan Air Force against Wing 999 Sports, and Sahir Associates will meet Ghani Institute at Sheikhupura’s Rana Naveed Cricket Academy. Victors from these matches will progress to the semi-finals, slated for 24 to 26 May in Abbottabad and Rawalpindi. The final, scheduled from 28 to 31 May, remains pending venue confirmation.
The tournament champions will be rewarded with PKR five million, with the runners-up receiving PKR 2.5 million from a prize pool totaling PKR 7.75 million.
From the tournament’s start on 15 April, 27 departmental teams competed in four groups. Kingsmen and Wing 999 Sports led Group A, while JDW Sugar Mills and Ghani Institute topped Group B. Pakistan Air Force and Mit Solutions progressed from Group C, and Group D qualifiers were Sahir Associates and Railways.
Standout performances have come from PAF’s Ateeq Ur Rehman and Umair Masood, leading the batting charts with 674 and 664 runs, respectively. On the bowling side, Wing 999 Sports’ Muhammad Tariq Khan leads with 41 wickets, supported by Shaikh Mohammad Raza’s 32 wickets. Railways’ duo Asad Ullah and Abdullah Zubair each claimed 28 wickets.
