SHIKARPUR:Shikarpur district police on Sunday claimed to have recovered 20 kidnappees from the clutches of bandits in encounters during the last five months.
A five-month report of the Shikarpur district police said that the police had 64 encounters in which they arrested 128 criminals, 1009 proclaimed offenders and 650 wanted criminals. The report said that the police also foiled many attempts of smuggling by recovering 129kg super quality hashish, 40kg opium, 13,010 liters of Irani petrol.
They also recovered illegal weapons including four Kalashnikovs, 11 guns, 68 pistols, three repeater guns, one G3 rifle and huge quantity of ammunition. They claimed to have recovered 143 snatched and stolen motorcycles during this period.
