Islamabad:The crucial National Assembly session for the no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, which started after much delay on Thursday, was adjourned till Sunday 11:30 am, when the vote on the no-confidence motion is expected to take place. The discussion on the no-trust motion against the Prime Minister was included on the agenda of the ‘order of the day’ issued by the National Assembly Secretariat on late Wednesday.

When the session started under the chairmanship of National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri, over 172 members from the Opposition benches were in attendance. During the question and answer session, all the Opposition members demanded the Deputy Speaker to allow voting on the no-confidence motion.

Qasim Suri, however, adjourned the session till Sunday saying that the attitude of the Opposition lawmakers was ‘non-serious’. The House could hardly run 10 minutes after it had started. The debate on the no-trust motion could not started. The Opposition members then staged a sit-in in the House, despite its adjournment.

After the PTI’s allies- MQM-P, BAP, JWP, and an independent MNA from Balochistan Aslam Bhootani decided to side with the Opposition, Prime Minister Imran Khan has apparently lost the majority in the National Assembly.
