To strengthen economic relations, Pakistan and China have designated cultural diversity as a fundamental component of their strategic partnership. This announcement, made by Nazir Hussain, President of the Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI), highlights the shared commitment to enhance bilateral relations through cultural initiatives.
This initiative is considered a crucial component of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which outlines various cultural exchanges to promote mutual understanding. These measures include joint art exhibitions, educational cooperation, food festivals, and tourism campaigns, all designed to build strong economic ties deeply rooted in cultural connections.
Brigadier Mansoor Saeed Sheikh (Retired), Senior Vice President of PCJCCI, shed light on the economic benefits of this strategy-focused attention. He explained that cultural exchanges are not only bridges of friendship but also necessary drivers for economic growth. These activities are expected to boost trade, enhance tourism, and influence cooperation in the creative industries between the two countries.
Further elaborating, Zafar Iqbal, Vice President of PCJCCI, mentioned the Pakistan-China Culture and Tourism Forum, language training in Pakistani universities, and joint projects in film and media as key components of this cultural-economic synergy. He emphasized the potential for significant advancements in cultural tourism and the trade of cultural goods, supported by strategic policy and infrastructure.
Salahuddin Hanif, Secretary General of PCJCCI, concluded the meeting by affirming that the strength of cultural ties symbolizes the mutual nature of cultural understanding and economic prosperity.
