Customs seizes foreign goods worth millions of rupees

QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs, Balochistan claimed to have seized foreign goods worth millions of rupees in different operations conducted in Lakpass and Ziarat cross area of the province on Thursday.

According to statement issued by the spokesperson for Collectorate of Customs, Balochistan, staff of Customs posted at Ziarat cross intercepted two suspicious trucks. Upon searching, 6500 kilogram betel nuts, 2000 kilogram dried Iranian milk, 200 packets of foreign cigarettes, Indian tobacco, which had been hidden beneath melons laden in trucks, were seized.

Similarly, mobile phones, watches, tyres and almonds were impounded from a vehicle at Lakpass check Post. Irfan Javed, Collector, Collectorate of Customs, Balochistan hailed the performance of staff who conducted the operations.
