Customs squads seize smuggled foreign goods worth Rs80m

QUETTA: Customs Quetta on Saturday claimed to have seized foreign goods worth millions of rupees in two different operations in Kuchlak and Nushki areas of Balochistan.

According to Collectorate of Customs Balochistan’s information, the customs team in association with personnel of Frontier Corps (FC) and district administration raided a place in Kuchlak area and seized foreign goods.

Similarly, in another operation, conducted on main RCD Highway of Nushki, the customs staff, Nushki, seized foreign goods from two trucks to be smuggled to the interior of the country. Items seized during operations included 21,000 kilograms of betel nuts, 120 tyres, 1000 kilograms of clothes, electronic equipments, medicines, welding rods, auto parts and others.

The customs squad impounded the trucks which were used for smuggling contraband goods. The value of the seized good was reported to be Rs 8 crore. Superintendent, Customs, Tariq Sultan, Superintendent, Saleem Agha, Senior Inspector, Shahzad Akhtar, Inspector Aslam Sulungi, Naseer Shaheen, Ishaq George and other took part in the operations in compliance with the directives issued by the Chief Collector, Collectorate of Customs, Balochistan, Gul Rehman.
