Uthal police on Sunday claimed to have apprehended four criminals, allegedly involved in the theft of narcotics and high-value mobile phones from the Kharkhera customs check post warehouse in Winder.

Acting on orders from superiors, officers from the Winder Police Station, overseen by Station House Officer Qadir Sheikh, took into custody Abdul Rehman, also known as Sagar, son of Nazeer Ahmed; Hawaldar Zubair, son of Abdul Aziz; Faisal, son of Imam Bakhsh; and Inayatullah, son of Rehmatullah. One suspect remains at large.

The confiscated contraband and cellular devices were reportedly retrieved from the possession of the detainees. They are believed to be responsible for the pilfering of narcotics and expensive mobile phones from the Kharkhera customs warehouse. The investigation continues into the whereabouts of the fifth suspect. The authorities are working to determine the full extent of the stolen goods and any potential connections to larger criminal networks.
