Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today announced that the Daanish University of Emerging Sciences is poised to join the ranks of the world’s top universities.
During a site visit to the university in Islamabad, he underscored the critical role of quality education in elevating the nation. The Prime Minister revealed that 100 acres have been designated for the university, with construction costs reaching £190 million transferred to the national exchequer by the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The institution’s first section is slated to open on August 14 next year.
Highlighting the focus on applied sciences, Sharif asserted that this initiative will transform the nation’s future. He assured that governmental interference will be absent, with admissions based solely on merit, and deserving students receiving free education.
Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal speaking on this occasion expressed that the university will produce future technology leaders and drive innovation. He predicted the rise of tech start-ups from this institution, aligning Pakistan with the Fourth and Fifth Industrial Revolutions.
Education Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui added that the government is advancing efforts to enhance quality education nationwide, with plans to expand the Daanish Schools network.
