Dacoits loot Rs50m worth of cash, gold from Lahore shop

Karachi: Dacoits took away more than Rs50 million worth of gold and cash from a jewellery shop in Sundar area of Lahore, police said Monday. According to police, a gang of bandits entered a jewellery shop, held shopkeeper hostage at gunpoint and looted Rs3.2 million worth of cash and Rs47.6 million worth of gold from the shop. The bandits decamped with booty after swift operation.

On information, police rushed to the scene and started search for the bandits. A dacoity case was registered. The shopkeepers of the area have strongly flayed police for this crime on the occasion of Eid and demanded recovery of the looted cash and gold to the ower forthwith.
