Karachi, December 18, 2018 (PPI-OT): Deputy Commissioner West Zahid Hussain Memon has directed Karachi Water Board (KWSB) focal person District West, Crush Plant water Hydrant INCHARGE Manghopir Asghar Yaqoob to provide water tanker to the areas badly affected by shortage of water in District West. DC Zahid Hussain Memon issued these directives presiding over a meeting at the Conference Room of the DC West office that was held to devise water management plan for the areas facing water shortage, here on Sunday.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioners (ACs), and others. The DC said he had reports there was water shortage in Orangi Town, Baldia, SITE and Manghopir in Gadap. At this, the Focal person District West said these areas depend on Hub Dam and K3 where availability of water was reduced to only 30MGD instead of 115 MGD. Whereas demand of district West is to 275 MGD per day. MD Water Board has been requested to in crease quantity and supply of water per day for district West. DC also directed to set up more water tanks in their respective areas.
