KARACHI: An important meeting regarding security arrangement and training of staff in case an emergency was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner South Captain (R) Abdul Sattar Issani to review the safety and security of hotels in which the current building structure of hotels and current situation.

Managing Directors, Directors, CEOs and other officials of the hotels were present on the occasion. The district administration included Additional Deputy Commissioner I, Additional Deputy Commissioner II, Assistant Commissioner Civil Lines and Assistant Commissioner Sadar besides senior officers of the Police Department.

Deputy Commissioner South said that the existing structures of all hotel buildings should be reviewed and repair work should be completed immediately and a report should be submitted to the district administration within a month. The confidence of local and foreign guests should be restored and they should be safe from any harm.

The Deputy Commissioner added and said that this should be done in case of any unforeseen accident to avoid possible losses. Captain (R) Abdul Sattar Issani further said that proper training of staff should also be arranged in hotels to deal with any untoward situation so that in case of any unforeseen accident, possible losses could be avoided.

He said that district administration and hotel management would jointly review the installation of all items especially fire fighting, fire alarm and fire extinguishers. Deputy Commissioner South said that he would personally visit the hotels and review all the security measures.

The representative of hotels assured that they would take all possible steps in collaboration with the district administration to prevent any untoward incident in future. They thanked Deputy Commissioner South and also appreciated the steps taken.
