BAHAWALPUR:Dean Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences , Islamia University of Bahawalpur Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal Bandisha has said that under the leadership of Prof Dr Athar Mehboob, Vice Chancellor,IUB, Jamia Islamia has attained the status of fourth generation university.
He thanks to the encouragement of research activities in the university, the name of Islamia University Bahawalpur has been included in the world rankings. The university has made a name for itself across the country in research on the cotton crop and the discovery of new seeds. Some time ago, the sale rights of cotton varieties IUB222, IUB13 and MM58 were given to SUNCROP and Avil Group under an agreement. From which the university will get an annual income of Rs. 100 million as royalty. This process has already started and the university received an initial amount of Rs. 3 million yesterday.
The Vice Chancellor termed this development as the first step towards success in the field of research for Islamia University Bahawalpur and congratulated Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal Bandisha on this achievement.
