Death over slavery is message of Kashmiri martyrs

Srinagar, July 07, 2021 (PPI-OT):Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control, in Pakistan and other parts of the world are observing Martyrs’ Week to pay homage to those who rendered their lives in the way of freedom. The week will end on July 13.

Call for the observance of the week has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference. Protest rallies and processions are being organised and pro-freedom banners and placards displayed in Azad Kashmir and abroad, today.

Tomorrow will be observed as Resistance Day to mark the martyrdom anniversary of popular youth leader, Burhan Wani, and his associates, while 13th July shall be observed as Martyrs’ Day. The APHC has called for complete shutdown in IIOJK, tomorrow, and on July 13. Marches would be conducted towards Tral, the native town of Burhan Wani, on July 08, and the Martyrs’ Graveyard at Naqashband Sahib in Srinagar on July 13 where the martyrs of 1931 are buried.

Meanwhile, a report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, maintained that the Martyrs’ Week is reminiscent of the highest price being paid for freedom by resilient Kashmiris. Quoting Hurriyat leaders and activists, it said the martyrs are the real assets of the Kashmiris’ freedom movement, which is alive because of the blood of martyrs.

Kashmiri people will neither forget the sacrifices of their martyrs, nor will forgive India for its crimes in the occupied territory, it added.

The report said that death over slavery is the message of the Kashmiri martyrs for India. Kashmiris’ valiant fight against fascist India will remain a golden page in history, the report said, adding that the Kashmiris would continue to lay down their lives till they achieved complete freedom from the Indian yoke.
