Jammu, June 19, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Vice President of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) and former minister, Raman Bhalla has urged the authorities to redress grievances of the people and said that the BJP-led Indian government is deliberately delaying to restore statehood to J and K. Interacting with people of Preet Nagar Digiana and Udham Nagar in Gandhi Nagar Constituency, he said that the authorities should lay emphasis on required facilities to the people on a priority. “People are living a difficult life and want an end to their miseries,” he said.
He said, “The situation in the country is different now as the democratic institutions are under the threat. The saner voices are being muzzled by the BJP and its offshoots, which is a matter of serious concern.” It is the duty of every right-thinking person to raise his or her voice against these undemocratic policies to ensure that there is no damage to the very foundations of the country, he added. “Congress has strengthened the democratic set up of the country and it will continue to work in that direction despite the coercion and other pressure tactics by the ruling BJP.
Urging the Government of India to start the developmental process in J and K, he said, it had come to a standstill since BJP assumed power at New Delhi. “Mere claims and running paper horses with regard to the well-being of the people and development of J and K won’t serve any purpose,” he maintained.
Bhalla said that his party was desirous of real empowerment of the people in Kashmir through the restoration of statehood. He said that turning J and K state into a Union Territory had completely disempowered its people. He further said that the BJP’s claim of providing ‘pro-people’ governance stands exposed as the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Government has failed miserably to address the issues affecting the general public. Prominent among those present on the occasion include Corporatar Chaudhry Dwarka, Sonu Sharma, Meenu, Papu, Shankar, Ritesh, Balbir Singh, Akash Sharma and Arpen Sharma.
