Islamabad, April 03, 2018 (PPI-OT): A delegation from Thailand headed by Mrs. Siriwan Sukorndhaman, Acting Senior Advisor on Security Coordination, National Security Council, Thailand called on the Chairman, Council of Islamic Ideology Prof. Dr. Qibla Ayaz today 3rd April, 2018 alongwith a delegation of fifteen members. The delegation was received by the Secretary, Dr. Iklram-ul-Haq, Deputy Director (A and HR) Rana Muhammad Atiq-ur-Rehman and other officers of the Council.
The exchange of viewpoints and experiences took place during the meeting of the delegation with the Worthy Chairman, Council of Islamic Ideology. Secretary of the Council Dr. Ikram-ul-Haq and Dr. Inam Ullah were also present in the meeting. The Chairman, Prof. Dr. Qibla Ayaz opened the discussion with welcoming the remarks. It was followed by a brief word of the head of delegation explaining the purpose of delegation.
The Chairman explained the efforts made by different institutions of Pakistan to curb the extremism and terrorism in Pakistan pointing to the efforts of NACTA, Law and enforcement agencies, military courts on one hand and to the message of Pakistan on the other hand. The Chairman also elaborated that the Council of Islamic Ideology had from the very first day adopted the Paigham-e-Pakistan, appreciated it and made recommendations to the parliament and provincial legislatures for proper legislation regarding it.
All the members of delegation actively participated with their questions and comments. Most of the questions were about the rights of minorities, their participation in the political activities, their religious rights, religious sects in Pakistan and their ideological themes and how Pakistan deals with sectarian ideologies. They also asked about the educational reforms on the basis of Islamic ideology and possibilities to implement moderate Islam in Pakistan.
The Chairman, Prof. Qibla Ayaz replied to their questions in detail. Then delegation was satisfied, appreciated the efforts of Council of Islamic Ideology in this regard and thanked the Chairman for providing them a chance for discussion and briefing them so effectively.
