Islamabad, January 05, 2018 (PPI-OT):A delegation of National Commission on the Status of Women, Ministry of Human Rights, Government of Pakistan called on Dr. Qibla Ayaz, Chairman, Council of Islamic Ideology on 5th January 2018 comprising of Ms. Khawar Mumtaz (Chairperson), Ms. Samina A. Hasan (Secretary) and Suleman Shah (Director, Programmes). Secretary Council of Islamic Ideology was also present.
Issues regarding Women’s social status and violence against women came under discussion. Bill on Transgender persons was also discussed. The delegation appreciated the efforts of the Council especially on its recommendations regarding three divorces at one time wherein the Council has advised to make it a punishable by law.
