DALBANDIN: Write of the government did not exist as private prisons of “Sardars” were present in many other areas of Balochistan, including Barkhan, but government was taking no steps.

These views were expressed by speakers while addressing a protest demonstration held under the aegis of National Party, district Chagai and Baloch Students Organization (Bijar), district Chagai outside Quetta Press Club here on Thursday against the incident of Barkhan.

Demanding the authorities to conduct fair and impartial inquiry into the incident of Barkhan, they said that government was helpless in front of Sardars. Condemning the brutal murder of Khan Muhammad Marri’s wife and children in the private prison of Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran, they said that killing innocent people was sheer barbarism.

Protest demonstration was addressed by provincial Labour Secretary, National Party, Manzoor Rahi, central leader, Sardar Fafique Shair Baloch, district President, Mir Atif Baloch, leaders of BSO (Bijar), Habib Baloch, Rashid Baloch, Master Atta-ur-Rehman Hassanzai and Muhammad Bakhsh Baloch.

Separately, National Party, district Kalat on Thursday rallied under the leadership of Haji Ghulam Qadir Umrani, district leader, National Party, Kalat, demanding Chief Justice High Court of Balochistan to take notice of the Barkhan incident. Carrying placards inscribed with slogans “arrest Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran” arrest the perpetrators involved in the killing of Gran Naz and her sons, participants of rally marched through different roads and reached Shaheed Lawang Khan Chowk where a protest demonstration was held.
