LARKANA: A social worker of Gur Wahan village of Warah taluka, Badaruddin Chandio, held a protest demonstration at Jinnah Bagh here on Thursday against non-installation of RO Plant in their village.
The RO plant was approved during 2019 at the cost of over Rs4 million when Shahmir Khan Bhutto was posted as deputy commissioner, Kambar-Shahdadkot district, Chandio told newsmen. He said that the villagers had been forced to drink Hamal Lake water which was highly contaminated. He said many residents had been infected with deadly diseases due to drinking arsenic water but the RO plant had been delayed for unknown reasons for the three years despite sanction of required funds.
Chandio further said he had made several complaints to district administration and other higher authorities of Sindh government, but nothing had so far been done. He urged the provincial rulers and Sindh High Court Chief Justice to help them for installation of the RO plant.
