Pakistan and Australia have committed to further strengthening their strong bilateral relations, focusing on promoting trade, educational partnerships, and cultural exchanges. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Australian Foreign Minister Senator Penny Wong discussed strengthening ties during the ASEAN Regional Forum.

Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation in various sectors. They aim to increase bilateral trade, currently valued at US$1.186 billion, and explore new avenues of economic cooperation.

Education also emerged as a key sector for future partnership. Both countries intend to expand existing programs and facilitate the mobility of students and faculty.

Recognizing the strong peopletopeople ties, both ministers acknowledged the important role of the Pakistani diaspora and the shared passion for cricket in fostering cultural understanding. The discussions were described as productive and friendly, indicating a promising direction for PakistanAustralia relations.
