DFP condemns ED notice to Shabbir Shah’s daughter

Srinagar, April 18, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), has strongly condemned the issuance of summon to Sama Shabbir, the daughter of illegally detained party Chairman Shabbir Ahmed Shah, by India’s Enforcement Directorate (ED). Sama Shabbir topped the 12th class examination in May last year. ED has issued summon to Sama directing her to appear before it.

The DFP leader, Muhammad Abdullah Tari, addressing a press conference in Srinagar said that ED out of frustration had summoned Sama Shabbir which amply proved that New Delhi was intimidating her by using unethical means. “Summoning of Sama Shabbir is a sheer example of harassing Shabbir Shah’s family. New Delhi is continuously using its institutions to silence the people and harass its political opponents,” he said.

Muhammad Abdullah Tari said that the inhuman approach of New Delhi towards Shabbir Shah was a proof that India was least bothered about the people of Kashmir and instead was interested in the land of the territory only. “To issue summon to Shabbir Shah’s daughter is nothing but inhuman face of the Indian democracy,” he said.

“It is beyond understanding what ED wants from a girl. This is only to pressurize senior resistance leader Shabbir Shah who is already facing worst kind of political vendetta at the hands of Indian state and is languishing in Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail, despite the fact that he is suffering from serious ailments,” he added.
