DFP remembers Qazi Nisar on his martyrdom anniversary

Srinagar, June 19, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has paid rich tributes to noted Islamic scholar and Ummat-e-Islami founding Chairman, Dr Qazi Nisar Ahmed, on his martyrdom anniversary. Dr Qazi Nisar Ahmed was killed by unknown gunmen on this day in 1994 in Bun Dialgan area of Islamabad district.

The DFP spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Qazi Nisar was a great religious scholar who always laid emphasis on the unity of Ummah. He said that the contribution of Qazi Nisar in the ongoing freedom movement was unparalleled. The spokesman vowed to take the mission of all Kashmiri martyrs to its logical conclusion. He said the illegally detained DFP Chairman, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, has a great regard for every martyr and he always says that great nations never forget their martyrs.

The DFP spokesman described Qazi Nisar as a great leader who strived for safeguarding the Muslim identity of Jammu and Kashmir. Qazi Nisar’s struggle and sacrifices cannot be ignored by anyone and today we express our gratitude and love for the noble soul, he added. The spokesman also paid glowing tributes the Kashmiri youth martyred by Indian troops in recent days in different areas of the occupied territory.

Meanwhile, APHC leader and the Chairman of Islamic Political Party, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, in a statement castigated India for its military and oppressive approach on the Kashmir dispute. He said that violent and military approach was never going to resolve the lingering dispute. Naqash said that unresolved Kashmir issue is the main cause of tension between Pakistan and India. He urged New Delhi to shun its rigid and unrealistic approach and engage with Pakistan and genuine Kashmiri leadership to settle the dispute, once for all.
