ABBOTTABAD:Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police Hazara Region Mirwais Niaz inaugurated the Ababil Force in Abbottabad district here on Thursday.

Ababil Force will work for reduction of street crimes, protection of people and making the city crime free. A special training has also been given to the personnel of Ababil Force so that they can perform their duties properly. The DIG directed the force to never neglect their duties. Ababil Force is equipped with heavy motorcycles in Abbottabad district.

The DIG visited the Abbottabad District Headquarters and attended the inauguration ceremony of Ababil Force as a special guest. He was received by the District Police Officer (DPO) Abbottabad Zahoor Babar Afridi and briefed on the duties of Ababil Force. He said the Ababil Force would work in the most important police stations of Abbottabad district with the objective of preventing street crimes and acting as first responders in case of any crime.

Speaking to media persons on the occasion, DIG Hazara Region Mirwais Niaz said that Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Moazzam Jah Ansari had set up the Ababil Force and the force had started regular work in Peshawar city. He said keeping in view the encouraging results and duties of the force, its effectiveness has been extended to the other districts as well. Abbottabad district is the headquarters of Hazara region.

Ababil Force will carry out its regular duties in important police stations from today (Thursday) and it is hoped that its establishment will reduce street crimes and for the protection of common people and will be making a crime free society. Mirwaiz Niaz also addressed the soldiers of Ababil Force and instructed them not to be negligent in their duties and to perform their duties in the best possible manner.

“Understand and help people in every way possible and also keep in mind that the equipment provided to you for the Ababil Force is an asset of the government and it is your duty to take care of it and use it properly,” the DIG urged the personnel. “Special care should be taken. I will try to improve this force for which I will talk to the IGP and will try to increase and improve this force’s performance by all means,” the DIG concluded.
