Islamabad, February 01, 2018 (PPI-OT): A distillery was unearthed in capital’s slum area which led to the recovery of a huge quantity of liquor on Thursday while seven other outlaws were also held for having narcotics, police said. On a tip off, IGP Islamabad Sultan Azam Taimuri asked SSP Najeeb ur Rehman Bhagvi for raid at a distillery in slum area. He assigned the task to SP Saddar Amir Khan Niazi to conduct a crackdown against those involved in bootlegging activities.
SP (Saddar) constituted a team under the supervision of DSP (Saddar) Ghulam Baqir and SHO Golra Tanveer Abbasi who along with ASIs Talat Mehmood, Khalid Mehmood Awan and other officials conducted a raid at fake liquor factory located at Meera Baadi being run by notorious bootlegger Malik Yasir. Police team recovered 800 litres of i brewed alcohol, 126 bottles of alcohol which includes 30 bottles of vodka, 64 bottles of whisky, 32 bottles of dry jinn and also chemicals used brewing alcohol, alcohol labels of different brands of alcohol, corks and other material used in the manufacturing process. Three accused persons were arrested and an FIR No. 43/2018 u/s 3/4 was lodged promptly against them. The nabbed persons have been identified as Gulzar Masih, Waqar and Qadeer
Meanwhile Inspector Muhammad Shafique from CIA police arrested an accused Ali and recovered 1300 gram hashish. Sub-Inspectors Zafar Iqbal and Asif Hussain arrested two accused Amil and Ahsan Hayat and recovered a total of 1.100 gram hashish from their possession. Sub-Inspectors Akhtar Abbas and Abdul Sattar from Karachi Company police apprehended Amir Shahzad and Adil Manzoor and recovered a total of 230 gram heroine from them.
SHO Lohi Bher police station Inspector Mehboob Ahmed arrested Umer Farooq and recovered 320 gram Hashish from him. ASI Irfan Abbas from Sabzi Mandi police arrested Hamza and recovered one dagger from him. SSP Islamabad Najeeb ur Rehman Bugvi has appreciated this performance and directed all police officials for effective policing measures in their respective areas.
