DKMM hands over Rs 0.5m cheques to IOK transport sector

Srinagar, July 30, 2020 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Darul Khair Mirwaiz Manzil (DKMM) has handed over cheques amounting to five lakh rupees to Srinagar-based transporters. The DKMM in a statement in Srinagar, expressing deep concern over the deteriorating economic situation due to continued lockdown because of the COVID-19 pandemic, said several sections of the society have suffered heavily as the businesses remain mostly closed.

It is to be mentioned that due to overall deteriorating situation in occupied Kashmir for the last one year, DKMM has been unable to collect donations. It appealed to the philanthropists of the territory to extend financial assistance to the needy people, especially the transport sector through their representative organisations, which has been badly affected. The representatives of Tata-407 mini-bus unions of Srinagar city received the cheques.
