DMC Central takes revolutionary step to save drinking water and spread greenery all over district central

Karachi, October 05, 2018 (PPI-OT): The DMC Central is taking a revolutionary step to save drinking water and spread greenery all over district central at all the parks and grounds in central district. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between a private NGO and DMC central here the other day.

The DMC Central Chairman Rehan Hashmi and chief Executive of International Brand Limited (IBL) Major General (Rtd) Mohammed Tariq Haleem,Soori approached with chairman with a slogan ” GROW GREEN PAKISTAN” and he said it should be started from District central Karachi..

He apprised the Chairman that under the plan they wanted to fix four sewerage water treatment filter plants with an objective to save drinking water. The treated water will be able to provide 50,000 gallons daily to all the parks and grounds of district central.

Each plant according to chairman estimated cost is under Rs two crores and each plant will be completed in the stipulated time period of 80 days. The first plant at Fateh Park North nazimabad is under construction, three others are at Block 6 Federal B area Nursery, Hockey ground 11 a North Karachi and Talibe Chaman North Nazimabad.

Chairman said DMC central would save approximately two lac Gallon daily drinking water would be saved. Hashmi said the DMC central gets approximately 60 to 70 mgd drinking water while Karachi is being supplied 350 mgd water and there was 30 percent leakage in DMC central.
