Srinagar, March 04, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the doctor who, as per police claim, had conducted the autopsy of Junaid Khuroo, a 10th standard student, killed by Indian police in 2011, confessed before the Human Rights Commission (HRC) that he did not conduct the postmortem of the body.
Amir Khuroo, brother of Junaid told media in Srinagar that Dr Fida Hussain stated before the commission that he had gone to the police camp but didn’t conduct the postmortem. He said he had just examined the body and didn’t sign the postmortem report, somebody signed it there.
The police have also submitted a report before the commission admitting after six months that block medical officer, who is supposed to report before commission, is outside the territory. While the police claimed that Junaid Ahmad Khuroo of Kralteng Sopore was a militant and had opened fire at CRPF camp Arampora, the investigation wing of the Human Rights Commission in their investigation has proved that Junaid was not a militant.
In 2012, a petition was filed by Junaid’s family with the Commission, and the case was handed over to the investigation wing of the Commission. In 2013, the investigation wing of the Commission carried out probe in the case and in its 15 page report revealed how police planned the murder of Junaid.
