She said the province was facing extra ordinary conditions due to floods and government of Balochistan had been carrying out rescue, relief and rehabilitation operations in the flood affected areas within its meagre resources. She said that most of the districts of the province had been severely affected by the rains and floods, causing loss to 216 lives. Besides human lives, property, infrastructure, roads and bridges had been severely damaged in the province, said she, adding that millions of people were facing the scarcity of food and water shortages. She said rehabilitation of flood affectees would be a big challenge in the wake of rescue and relief activities.

“Making an appeal to the UN and donor agencies and other stakeholders to extend cooperation to the Government of Balochistan in emergency, she said that government of Balochistan cannot cope with the flood disasters alone”.
