Door to Door social mobilization vaccination drive kicks off

LAHORE: Special door to door Social Mobilization vaccination campaign has been launched by Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare (P and SHD), Sarah Aslam. The special vaccination campaign will run from 26th July to August 10th. At union council level, citizens will be vaccinated at their doorsteps.

According to the Sec P and SHD Sarah Aslam, Minimum 40% population of Lahore, Multan, Gujranwala and Faisalabad will be vaccinated in this campaign, moreover minimum 70% population of Rawalpindi will also be vaccinated during this campaign. The campaign will be launched at the level of union council in view of the need and public convenience.

Reviewing COVID-19 current stats, on special instructions for intensive vaccination drive a huge rise is observed in vaccination drive. Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Sarah Aslam told about vaccination double hat trick of over 3 lac vaccination per day in Punjab? She says that *ONLY and ONLY Vaccination* is the real remedy against COVID and its new Delta Variant.

Sarah Aslam highlights increase in corona cases, as 457 cases are reported in 24 hours getting tally to 353,695. 331,222 patients are fully recovered and active cases are 11,509 till date. 6 more deaths have reported in Lahore, whereas overall deaths in Punjab are 20, bringing the total of 10,964 till date. Total tests conducted are 6,084,250 while 18,432 tests has processed in recent 24 hours, 240 cases in Lahore, 99 cases in Rawalpindi, 16 cases in Sialkot, 15 cases in Sargodha 14 cases in Faisalabad, 9 in Rahim Yar Khan, 6 cases in Bahawalpur, 6 cases in Chakwal, 6 cases in Multan, 5 cases in Gujranwala, 5 cases in Khushab, 4 cases in Bahawalnagar, respectively 3 cases reported in Kasur and Vehari, whereas respectively 2 cases each reported in Bhakar, Gujrat, Okara and Sheikhupura.

During last 24 hours the average positivity ratio 2.5 has recorded across the whole Province. Provincial Capital Lahore positivity ratio recorded 3.6, 2.2 in Faisalabad, 1.4 in Bahawalpur and 0.8 in Multan.

Sarah Aslam instructed the public, adherence to SOPs and timely vaccination is the only key to cope with Delta variant, as its likely to be one of the dominant strains of COVID-19 in Pakistan and worldwide. She also appreciated the public inclusion in vaccine drive.
