Dozens injured in South Waziristan heavy rains

Peshawar

Peshawar: Dozens were injured as several houses collapsed after heavy rains in South Waziristan.

Local rescue workers said heavy rains have played havoc with Wana, Kani Garam, Badaran Tank areas, damaging crops and orchids. They said rain-fed rivers are swelled and communication with hundreds of villages has already been cut off.

They said dozens of people are injured, and a large number of cattle heads killed due to rain-affected areas. In remote areas, rescue assistance is not possible due to swelled rivers, they said.
