DPC for promotion of doctors, nurses to be held every month to clear promotion cases: Javed Qazi

LAHORE: Specialized Healthcare Secretary Dr Ahmad Javed Qazi on Saturday presided over a meeting of Punjab Health Initiative Management Company (PHIMC) at his office to get update on company’s initiatives in respect of universal health insurance program for Punjab population.

PHIMC CEO Dr Ali Razzaq gave him detailed briefing about new benefit package, disbursed amount and Seht Sahulat Cards. Present on the occasion were Additional Secretaries Dr Asif Tufail, Amir Ghazi and Dr Salman Shahid and other officers of PHIMC.

Secretary Health said that all citizenry registered with NADRA would get Seht Sahulat Program by end of December 2021. He said that under UHI people would indoor medical healthcare free of cost from private and public hospitals. He asked CEO PHIMC to strengthen financial management and corruption free system in the company and enhance capacity building of officers for better delivery of services. He said that there was one health sector but divided into two departments would work with collaboration.

Later, the secretary health while getting briefing from Admin, Procurement, Development and other sections of Specialized Healthcare Department, said that DPC for promotion of doctors and nurses be met every month to expedite their pending promotion cases. All backlog be cleared in two months, he added.

He observed that every official has right to get promotion in their career and their promotion would lead to improve their working in hospitals. He said that all the pending issues of hospitals would be resolved very soon. He opined that upgradation and improvement of infrastructure in hospitals would help provide better healthcare to patients to the optimum level.
