Dr. Fehmida Mirza vows to improve facilities at Pakistan Sports Board

Islamabad, February 27, 2019 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination Dr. Fehmida Mirza vowed to improve facilities at Pakistan Sports Board. Speaking to the prize distribution ceremony of Pakistan Inter Board Sports Gala 2019, organized by Inter Board Sports Committee, Dr. Mirza appreciated and acknowledged the efforts of IBSC and PSB for organizing a successful event. “Besides winning or losing, Sports is a mean to provide an opportunity for interaction, not only among different teams but also among people coming from different areas” she said. She underscored the need to encourage sports activities at all levels and said that this area was neglected by the previous governments but the incumbent Government is committed to improve Sports facilities and infrastructure.

While commenting on the ongoing tension at borders, the Minister condemned Indian aggression and said that it is highly unfortunate the way India had denied visas to our players resulting in cancellation of many international events there.” It is satisfactory to note that the International Olympic committee had denied Indian request to bar Pakistani Players from participation in India” she said. She reiterated Prime Minister’s commitment to peace and said that it is the vision of our leadership that the whole region may progress. Whole Nation is United and is standing at back of the Armed forces. We should give peace a chance, she said. Shields and medals were distributed among the different winning teams by the Federal Minister and Special Secretary for IPC.
