ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has approved tariff rationalization same as the rest of the country for K-Electric.

The ECC, which met here in Islamabad on Wednesday with Finance Minister Miftah Ismail in the chair, approved that KE applicable uniform variable charge is required to be modified to maintain the uniform tariff across the country.

It also approved the lowest bid offered by M/s Vittera B.V / Marine International at the rate of 404.86 per metric tons for import of 120,000 metric tons of wheat. The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) was further allowed to match the tender quantity of 300,000 MT.

The ECC authorized TCP for signing agreement with Chinese firms for import of 200 KMT Urea from China at negotiated rate of 500 dollars per metric tons on 90 days deferred payment with markup basis.
