ECNEC approved Peshawar-D.I Khan and Dir Motorway: CM

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has revealed that Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) has formally cleared two important and mega developmental projects of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Peshawar-D.I Khan Motorway and Dir Motorway.

He has termed the approval of these projects as big news for the people of the province in general and for the people of South and northern districts in particular and said that the incumbent government has fulfilled yet another promise made to the people of the province.

In a statement issued here to this effect on Friday, Mahmood Khan has said that 365 kilometers long Peshawar D.I. Khan Motorway would be completed with an estimated cost of Rs. 300 billion whereas the 30 kilometers long Dir Motorway would be completed with an estimated cost of Rs. 40 billion adding that on completion, these projects would usher in a new era of development and prosperity in southern and northern districts of the province, and thus putting an end to the backwardness of these areas. Mahmood Khan further remarked that on completion, these mega projects would boost tourism, trade and other economic activities in the province; and provide job opportunities to the people.

He said that the incumbent provincial government was taking result oriented steps under a well devised strategy to establish economic zones in various parts of the province and to connect those economic zone through highways with the aim to make this province a hub of economic activities and international trade. Mahmood Khan expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Imran khan and Federal Minister Asad Umer for getting those projects approved from ECNEC.
