Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) today announced the start of gas and condensate extraction from its Soghri North Well-1, located in Punjab”s Attock district.

This achievement follows the firm”s previous announcement on March 17, 2025, of a substantial gas and condensate find at the same location. The well yields 14.0 Million Standard Cubic Feet per Day (MMSCFD) of gas and 430 barrels per day (BPD) of condensate.

To expedite the utilization of this resource, OGDC constructed an 8-inch, 14-kilometer pipeline linking the well to the Dakhni processing facility. The refined gas is now being supplied to the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) network, directly addressing the nation”s rising energy demands.

Holding a 100 percent working interest and operating the Soghri Exploration License, OGDC has progressed its objective to accelerate output from recent discoveries. The corporation aims to bolster Pakistan”s energy independence, cater to industrial and residential consumers, and advance sustainable progress through responsible resource stewardship.

OGDC affirmed its commitment to continuous exploration and development nationwide, aiming to tap into domestic hydrocarbon reserves and lessen dependence on energy imports.
