Enforcement Directorate summons Naseem Gilani to Delhi

New Delhi, March 16, 2019 (PPI-OT): The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Naseem Gilani, son of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, to appear before it on March 22 at its New Delhi headquarters in a fake case.

The ED notice to Naseem Gilani, a professor at Agriculture University, Srinagar, comes less than a week after the Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA) summoned him to New Delhi in a false funding case.
In 2017, the ED had summoned Syed Ali Gilani to its office in Srinagar for hearing in a fake case dating back to June 2002.

In July 2017, the ED arrested Hurriyat leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, in a fake money-laundering case dating back to 2005. He is presently lodged in New Delhi’s Tihar jail. Meanwhile, the ED moved a Delhi court seeking its nod to quiz, Syed Ali Gilani’s son-in-law, Altaf Ahmad Shah, in connection with a false case.

The Enforcement Directorate also sought to question, Zahoor Watali, a businessman having friendship with Kashmiri resistance leaders. Altaf Shah and Zahoor Watali were arrested by the NIA in the fake funding case and are lodged in Tihar Jail. The court will hear the matter on March 19.
