Enhancing Pak-Afghan trade vital for country’s economic development: Asad

Islamabad, September 04, 2020 (PPI-OT): Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser says enhancing trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan is vital for economic development of the country. Chairing second meeting of Executive Committee of Pak-Afghan Friendship Group in Islamabad, he said eliminating trade barriers and facilitating traders would enhance the trade volume between the two countries.

The Speaker said ease of doing business especially in and around border areas would also increase employment opportunities for people. He appreciated the performance and active role of the Parliamentarians and concerned institutional stakeholders for achieving targets determined by the executive committee especially facilitating the traders at Torkham Border, Ghulam Khan, Angoor Ada and finalizing the draft policy on visa liberalization scheme. He said it is the right time to get the decisions implemented within timelines as suggested by Pak-Afghan Parliamentary Friendship Group.
