Islamabad, September 21, 2021 (PPI-OT):Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib says the use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) is a permanent solution to curb electoral rigging and reclaim credibility of elections. Talking to a private news channel, he said those objecting to the use of EVMs in elections should come up with new suggestions, if any, to prevent electoral fraud.
Fakhar Habib said the government has invited opposition several times on the EVM issue but it never took the matter seriously and raised unwarranted objections. He said the PTI’s politics is only based on accountability and transparency and under this policy, the government is working to ensure transparent elections in future.
The State Minister said the opposition can call any national as well as international experts to show them the machine to address their reservations. He also urged the institutions opposing the EVM to come up with logical concerns and work in favour of electronic polling solution.
