ISLAMABAD:Director General Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mahmood Aslam Wazir on Thursday said crackdowns against drugs dealers were intensified, as eradication of drugs from the province is top priority of the government.

He said 102 kg of Hashish was recovered during a crackdown on Thursday. He said operation against drugs being extended to the whole province. In this connection, Mardan Excise Police Station foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of drugs to Punjab and recovered 102 kg (102000 gm) of hashish and the smuggler was arrested on the spot.

According to details, under the supervision of Masood-ul-Haq Excise and Taxation Officer (Counter Narcotics Operations) and on the instructions of Waheed Khan Circle Officer Peshawar and Mardan Region, Akif Nawaz SHO Excise Mardan Police Station along with other personnel carried out a major operation near Charsadaa Interchange Motorway.

During the operation the personnel signaled and stopped a car bearing No. NC 352 Islamabad. During search of the car, 102 kg of hashish was recovered from the secret cavities of the car. Meanwhile the accused/smuggler Ghulam Shabbir son of Muhammad Siddique resident of Faisalabad was arrested on the spot.

While a case has been registered against the accused in Excise Police Station Mardan and further investigation was underway. The personnel who conducted the successful operation will be given cash reward.
