Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah received the annual report from Federal Insurance Ombudsman Mumtaz Ali Shah during a meeting.

The Ombudsman highlighted his office’s role in protecting policyholders’ rights. He reported a 95.27% complaint resolution rate from across the country in 2024, with 5,827 out of 6,116 cases successfully resolved. The remaining 289 complaints are under review and are expected to be resolved soon.

Resolved complaints encompassed various insurance types: 424 term life, 3,992 bank-related, 619 death benefits, 97 group policies, 213 maturity benefits, and 103 health. Additionally, 112 automotive, 73 agricultural, 59 theft, 33 fire, and 139 administrative matters were resolved.

The Sindh Chief Minister appreciated the Ombudsman’s performance and emphasized increasing public awareness regarding insurance matters. He stated that increased consumer awareness would contribute to smoother resolutions with insurance providers.
